The "Category - CAT" number determines the light transmission rate (light transmittance) in the visible range. How well and clearly you can perceive your surroundings depends primarily on the lens you choose.
Replacement Lens STORM
The snowboard and ski goggles The STORM are also equipped with the simple SnapTech magnet exchange system. Through an optimized positioning of the magnets - and a robust polycarbonate frame that surrounds the glass - the magnet performance has been increased by 30% . A comfortable grip is guaranteed even with fast turns and crazy jumps.
A total of five different replacement lenses with different light transmission are available. Depending on the wind and weather conditions, a respective glass is recommended for this. In addition to the specified light transmission, the lenses have a super anti-fog coating and are 300% more resistant to fogging. That means the super anti-fog coating is three times stronger and more fog-resistant than its predecessors.
In the 2020 winter season, there is also a clear replacement lens for NAKED Optics snowboard and ski goggles for the first time. The clear replacement lens has a light transmission of 80 to 100% (CAT. 0) and is particularly suitable for night skiing.
For better understanding we have created the following table for you. The categories are standardized and roughly indicate how much light comes through the lenses and what weather conditions they are therefore perfect for.
