Do you know that stupid feeling when your new € 200 glasses have a scratch after the second day of skiing? We knew it all too well. And that's exactly why we came up with the idea one evening to change something about it. What exactly do you find out here:
Everything seems to get more expensive every year. From the lift ticket to clothing, fast powder skis and, above all, good ski goggles. Because we liked to skip lectures for powder days (who doesn't?) and got together a considerable number of ski days a year, we sometimes broke several ski goggles each season and had to be financed from our already heavily strained student budget - one very painful task.
This made our love of freeriding difficult and we decided to get to the bottom of it. After a lot of research and discussions with experts, we noticed that the many detours in retail, as well as traditional marketing by large corporations, artificially make products more expensive. We saw potential to streamline the sales channel and thereby stir up the market for ski goggles.
After weighing up the risks and opportunities for a long time, we made the decision in 2013 to implement our own design and quality ideas for glasses and to start our own company. The first test models had to survive a whole season with several state-certified ski instructors (Philipp is one himself, after all) before the first order was placed in summer 2014 and the delivery arrived in our shared flat about 2 months later.
As a real "garage start-up", glasses were stored in the room and basement and advertised and sold with a galactically slim marketing budget via our first online shop. The daily trip to the post office before lectures was a pleasure all winter long. We now have several thousand satisfied customers and are proud of our small but mighty NAKED Family, who capture and share the most beautiful moments on the mountain with us.
Now you're probably still wondering: "Why NAKED?". We prefer to let your own imagination run wild and only add: "Good things happen when you are NAKED."
