Do you love going full throttle on the trail, tackling steep descents, and trying out new lines? Then you know: A helmet isn't just a nice-to-have—it's a must! That's why we're excited to introduce you to our brand-new MTB helmet, The RIDGE. Designed for maximum safety, superior comfort, and a look that's a standout on any trail.
But a stylish helmet is useless if it doesn't fit properly. To help you get the most out of your new companion, we'll show you how to find the right size—and what's important for a perfect fit.
What size helmet do I need?
The perfect helmet size is crucial for your protection. Our helmet, The RIDGE, comes in two adjustable sizes. These are given in centimeters. This is your head circumference—and measuring it is easy:
Take a flexible measuring tape and place it approximately 1 cm above your eyebrows. Run the tape straight and tightly along your head—over your ears and the back of your head. You can now easily read the circumference.
How does a helmet fit correctly?
A well-fitting helmet not only protects you in an emergency, but also feels comfortable on long rides. Here's how to check if your helmet fits properly:
Place the helmet loosely on your head – the chin strap remains open for now. Turn the adjustable size dial on the back of the helmet until the helmet fits snugly but comfortably. It's important that the helmet doesn't pinch, but it also doesn't slip. Now you can adjust the chin strap. Depending on your head shape and where your ears sit, you can make the front and back straps longer or shorter. It should be tight enough that it doesn't slip – but loose enough that you can still speak without difficulty.
Shake your head – if nothing wobbles, the helmet fits perfectly.
Which glasses fit your helmet?
Of course, when choosing your helmet, it's essential that your cycling glasses and helmet match. Here you'll find all NAKED Optics glasses models and how they match the new The RIDGE helmet.
