The days are getting shorter, the first snow is approaching – but the biking season is far from over. Many bike parks in Austria operate well into October, some even into November. And some trail centers can be ridden basically all year round.
In short: for the seasonal bike parks and trail areas in our overview, the end of the 2026 season falls between early October and mid-November. Bike Republic Sölden ends its regular season on October 4th, several bike parks operate until November 1st, EPIC Bikepark Leogang until November 8th, and Wexl Trails even offer operation on selected weekends until November 15th. In addition, there are several year-round usable trail centers.
We checked the opening hours of 20 Austrian bike parks and trail areas and show you where a bike trip in October or November is still worthwhile.

Where can you still bike in November 2026?
Of the 20 bike parks and trail areas we surveyed, 13 offer scheduled riding opportunities at least on November 1st or later. If you are planning a classic late autumn bike trip after November 1st, two seasonal areas particularly stand out:
The EPIC Bikepark Leogang will continue to operate with the Asitzbahn until November 8th in 2026.
At the Wexl Trails in St. Corona, there will even be autumn operation on the weekend of November 13th–15th. Please note that not all trails remain open until the last day of operation – for example, the Panorama Trails close for winter from November 2nd.
Additionally, there are areas like Obermillstatt, the Burgenland Trails, the Trailwerk Göttweig, Bikepark Bergheim, and the Schöckl Trail Area, which can generally be used outside of a typical summer season. However, here, the ground conditions, weather, snow, and respective operating rules determine what is actually rideable.
Autumn biking: why the conditions are completely different
In autumn, the sun is lower, forest passages become darker, and the contrast between open areas and shaded sections increases. Fog, damp ground, and wet leaves make roots and rocks harder to spot. In addition, it gets dark much earlier in the afternoon. This is precisely why it’s worth not simply packing the same dark lens for autumn biking that works in midsummer.
Which goggle lens is suitable for mountain biking in autumn?
The VLT – Visible Light Transmission – is crucial. It indicates how much visible light passes through the lens to your eyes.
For dark forest trails, fog, and heavily overcast days, light lenses are particularly interesting. For example, the NAKED lenses include the Purple-Green CAT1 Lens with 53% VLT, designed for shady forest trails.
For changing conditions, there are Category 2 lenses with 23% VLT. If it gets really dark, rainy, or late in the day, a clear Category 0 lens with 90% VLT allows particularly a lot of light to pass through.
Especially for a bike park day in October, it can therefore be useful to bring a spare lens – or to choose a solution that covers as wide a range of changing light conditions as possible.
Conclusion: The bike season is far from over in October
Anyone who puts their bike away for winter at the beginning of October will miss out on some really good trail weeks in 2026. Many bike parks are open until late autumn and offer perfect conditions. So: check the weather forecast, current trail and lift information, pack a downhill goggle or sports glasses with the appropriate lens, and enjoy a few more flowing autumn laps.
