Are you really looking for a nice ski experience, perfect slopes and a lot of different possibilities? So, don't spend too much money for your accommodation. Choose a nice resort in the pre-season, which gives you access to uncrowded slopes and shorter lift queues.
Hotels and ski passes are much cheaper in pre-season. Christmas and February half term will be especially expensive whereas the period before Christmas and most of January and March will be a lot cheaper. Don't forget to bring your sandwich or other meals to the mountain. Ski huts are very expensive and always remember, there is still the après ski part where you will spend some money.

There is nothing nicer than ending the day with a “Glühwein” or taking down some shots & liquors (whatever floats your boat).
