A new era begins after Corona
Time frame: 2022-2024
What happened during this time? Many new products for summer and winter, cool events, and no more Corona restrictions.
Chris's quote to the team: "I think we should have considered how to display our dozens of VOLT colors in the online shop before ordering them... Because it simply doesn't work like this!"
After our 3D printer Sepp had been running at full capacity for years producing our FFP2 mask clips, things quieted down for our hardest-working employee in 2022. Due to the increasingly positive COVID-19 situation, we allowed him his well-deserved retirement and turned our attention back to new innovations . During the winter season, we successfully launched our ski goggles, The NOVA , which remain one of our best-selling products. We also explored how we could further expand our sports eyewear range that year, leading to the development of the VOLT . And because we're all fans of different colors – and tastes usually vary 😉 – we simply designed the VOLT as a trendy, stylish pair of glasses with over 450 possible color combinations at the time (now over 1512 possible configurations).
The many possible combinations also showed us how limited our online shop platform Shopify is – it can only handle 100 different variations. Therefore, we had to have a workaround programmed, and our sports glasses configurator was created, which still exists today.

In spring 2023, the time had finally come, and the VOLT was launched, including adjustments to the webshop. The new sports glasses were incredibly well received by the community, and we were able to present them at events like the Glemmride Festival . As always, we had a lot of fun there, and the next morning we were glad to have a pair of large glasses on hand to cover our eyes. 😉
A year later, in the spring of 2024, we were able to launch another very successful product: the performance sports glasses The BLADE. proved to be a cool next step in our eyewear game and has quickly established itself as a core part of our product range.


10 years of NAKED and the shortest move in history

What happened during this time? A wild anniversary celebration, an afternoon of games in the new office, and warm bread rolls.

Autumn/Winter 2024 was a very exciting time for us at NAKED Optics . In November, we celebrated our 10th anniversary with many familiar faces, including our athletes Stevie Schneider , Stefan Müller , Michi Strauss, Martin Loinger , and many more, at the Shakespeare in Salzburg. Our stalwarts Flo and Chris had to persevere through their least favorite task: public speaking. Once that was over, our founders were unstoppable, and a fantastic night ensued, fueled by the beats of our athlete and DJ Michi Strauss . This period also saw the release of our new compact ski goggles, The SOLAR , which sold like hotcakes the following winter. However, reality hit us again the week after the big 10th anniversary party when we had to prepare for our move to a new office . Anyone who thinks this was a huge logistical undertaking is mistaken. In fact, it must have been one of the shortest moves in the company's history in Salzburg. We only moved a few meters within the same building on the same floor, where we now have significantly more space available.
We used the extra space in our new office for some worthwhile investments. For example, a small ping-pong table now graces our showroom. It was also the scene of a heated office games afternoon. The highly official NAKED Optics Office Triathlon consisted of three disciplines: ping-pong, Mario Kart, and…Crocodile Doc! In the absence of our very ambitious founder, Flo, the author of these lines managed to secure the overall victory at the end of the day. Rumor has it that he's still basking in the glory of this fabulous win 😊 We also had the opportunity to showcase our products at cool events like Glemmride and the bike park opening in Obermillstatt in 2025. A particular focus there was on our new downhill goggles ,The ZEND , which are the first MTB goggles in our range to also feature a magnetic lens replacement system.


Full motivation for the future
The past few years have catapulted our company into new realms that we wouldn't have thought possible just a short time ago. Founded as a garage startup, NAKED has developed into an established brand in the ski and sports eyewear market over the last 10 years. This is evidenced not only by the numerous positive testimonials from our customers, but also by the long-awaited 100,000 Order Award from Shopify , which has been proudly displayed in the CEO's office for the past few weeks.
This success is thanks not only to our founders Flo and Chris, but above all to you ! Without our unique community, this progress would never have been possible. We want to continue giving our all every day to bring you joy with our products and to further establish NAKED Optics in the scene. Our motto remains the same as it was on day one: Life is better NAKED .
