"Art speaks where words are unable to explain" - This perfectly describes the passion of the young artist Julian Eisen. Painting plays an important role in his life. In cooperation with Julian Eisen the pin-up girl for the new NAKED Optics Skiing Girl T-Shirt came to life. He told us how the idea behind the pin-up theme was born and where he gets his inspiration for his artwork.
Julian Eisen: A boy from Bad Goisern
Salzkammergut – It is not only one of the most beautiful regions of Austria but also the home of Julian Eisen. Art plays an important role for him since his childhood. "I have been involved with art and artistic things since I was a little boy," he says. Since 2017 painting has been one of his greatest passions, along with sports. "Sport and art enable me to have a good balance in my everyday life. In winter I also work as a ski instructor," Julian mentions. A great motivation for him to paint is above all the personal improvement. The more he paints, the better he becomes and the more motivation he gains for future works. His subjects and themes are multifaceted and reflect his personal interests. Intensity and time investment depend on the certain artwork and vary greatly. Usually he needs between 10 and 50 hours for a subject. Furthermore, Julian uses different tools and techniques for his artwork. This year he tried oil painting for the first time.
NAKED Optics skiing girl: How did the idea appear?
In the cooperation with NAKED Optics, Julian could prove his passion for painting once again. The main idea behind the project was to design a T-Shirt with a pin-up girl. At the beginning of the cooperation it was not clear that the subject will turn out as an oil painting. Choosing the right subject is not always easy. Julian had some ideas in his mind though: Girls in combination with skiing. Two important aspects in his life. Together with the photographer Mario Kain and the model Lisa Schwaiger he was able to realize the idea of the perfect subject and built the foundation for the NAKED Optics Skiing Girl. His intention to paint the girl in retro style and to try out a new direction was encouraged by the Pop Art artist Mel Ramos. "I have seen a video of him. It really confirmed me in my question whether I should do it or not. The video really inspired me and was like a flash of inspiration," says Julian. A word and a blow! The result is impressive. After the oil painting was created, the subject was digitalized and printed on the T-Shirt. Julian showed one thing above all in this project: Uniqueness and passion can be expressed perfectly through painting. NAKED Optics is sure that there is more to come from the young artist from Salzkammergut. Stay tuned for more!
